Results, results, results we all want to see results. Many trainers guarantee results and if you look hard enough you may see a small diclaimer somewhere contradicting that promise. I even fell into that as an attention getter, but no more!!! Fitness and body composition changes are not just dependant on good trainer. While a fitness trainer will set you up with the proper program and nutritional strategy, its ultimately up to YOU to follow and stick with the program! You truly get out what you put in and that goes for deidication/commitment, sticking with proper nutrition and getting in ALL of your workouts! If you eat insufficient calories and nutrient poor foods, periodically skip your strength training sessions and periodically skip your HIIT/metabolic/cardio sessions several things WILL happen.
POOR NUTRITION
1. Your body will not have the energy needed to repair and build body lean body mass (muscle and yes that applies for women too)
2. You will lack energy for you workouts and spike energy levels throughout the day.
3. Your body will hold onto stubborn body fat
4. Metabolism will decrease. The opposite of what you want.
MISSED STRENGTH TRAINING SESSIONS
1. Continued muscular imbalances and possible joint, low back or muscle strain issues down the road.
2. NO lean muscle growth. See #1-4 in poor nutrition and #1 directly above.
3. You will miss extended caloric burn possibilities (EPOC) post exercise oxygen consumption. Very important when it come to shredding body fat.
MISSED HIIT/METABOLIC/CARDIO SESSIONS
1. See #1-4 and 1-3 of the above.
2. This is the icing on the cake. MIssing these sessions will drastically slow your desired results or progress.
Look I realize there will be times when you slip up with nutrition, I mean we are all human. Holidays come up, birthdays, social get togethers, etc......are inevitable. In fact I encourage treat meals 10%-20% of the time depending on you time line and several other factors for reaching your goals. BUT if you truly want to reach your goals you can apply sound nutritional stratagies and still plan around those events and not feel like your missing out on those so called unhealthy meal choices. Education is key and with that you can make a healthy and maintainable nutritional lifestyle change!
